WOMEN IN ENERGY

Women in Energy at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy is deeply grateful to the Amplify Her Foundation for its support of our Women in Energy Fellowship. With this investment, we will expand opportunities for future fellows to strengthen their skills, deepen their knowledge, and build meaningful professional networks. Through the Foundation’s partnership, we are empowering the next generation of leaders to grow in confidence, advance in their careers, and shape the future of the energy industry.

MISSION

Women in Energy’s mission is to elevate women and advance inclusion within the energy workforce by producing research, expanding pathways into the sector, and supporting professionals through career development. WIE envisions a future where women are equally represented at every level of the climate and energy sector.

GRANT PURPOSE & IMPACT

Amplify Her Foundation funding will support the growth of the Women in Energy Fellowship, specifically targeting women with 3–8 years of experience in the energy sector - a critical career stage where advancement into leadership roles often stalls and many talented women face barriers to advancement or leave the field altogether. Building on the success of a 2024 pilot, this investment will allow WIE to expand the program length, update the curriculum, and bring in additional expert facilitators to deliver seminars on energy policy, climate equity, geopolitics, and leadership development.

The grant will also make the program more accessible by offering travel stipends to Fellows, ensuring that women from diverse backgrounds and geographies can participate fully. By combining technical knowledge with skill-building workshops, mentorship, and peer networking, the Fellowship equips participants with the confidence, expertise, and connections needed to remain in the sector and move into positions of leadership. The anticipated impact is both individual and systemic: strengthening women’s professional trajectories while contributing to a more inclusive, representative, and resilient energy workforce that reflects the urgency and complexity of today’s climate and energy challenges.
