New York State Attorney General Letitia James will give opening remarks and Tarana Burke, Founder of the Me Too Movement and a pioneer in driving social change and women’s leadership will receive our inaugural GlassBreaker award. Amplify Her® Foundation will unveil a comprehensive research report on women’s leadership, If She Can Make It Here, and a panel of esteemed women leaders are joining an interactive dialogue to dive deep into the report's findings and discuss actionable interventions that empower women and girls in underserved communities. 

SPEAKERS:

Letitia James, New York State Attorney General

Letitia “Tish” James is the 67th Attorney General for the state of New York. With decades of experience and a long record of achievements, she is a powerful, effective attorney and lifelong public servant, with an unyielding commitment to gender equity and social justice. When she was elected in 2018, she became the first woman of color to hold statewide office in New York and the first woman to be elected Attorney General. She was also the first woman of color to hold citywide office when she was elected as the public advocate for New York City in 2013. A proud Brooklynite, she is a graduate of Lehman College and Howard University School of Law.


Ana Oliveira, President and CEO of The New York Women’s Foundation

The New York Women’s Foundation is the largest women’s fund in the country. Ana leads critical cross-sectoral partnerships to advance women’s rights as a proud co-chair of The New York City Council Speaker’s Young Women’s Initiative and a Commissioner of Human Rights for the NYC Commission on Human Rights. She sits on the Independent Commission to Study Criminal Justice Reform in NYC and is on the board of Philanthropy New York. Ana was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and resides in Manhattan. She has an M.A. in Medical Anthropology from the New School for Social Research.


Camille Emeagwali, Senior VP of Programs & Strategic Learning at The New York Women's Foundation

Camille leads programmatic strategy, strategic learning, and impact positioning of The Foundation’s thought leadership and oversees The Foundation’s $10 million strategic grantmaking portfolio focused on advancing gender, racial, and economic justice.  Prior to The Foundation, Camille was the Director of Capacity Building at Harm Reduction Coalition. Camille has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector.  Camille has a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from the Milano School of Policy, Management and Environment at The New School and a B.A. in Government and Politics from University of Maryland, College Park.


Diana Franco, Vice President of Women.NYC at NYC Economic Development Corporation

A serial entrepreneur by nature, Diana started her career on the founding team of three successful startups, and is the founder of Grenout, an agency focused on helping foreign entrepreneurs launch their products and services in the U.S., and co-founder of CoreWoman. Diana served as the Executive Director of Women Entrepreneurs (WE NYC) at the NYC Department of Small Business Services. The City of New York has publicly recognized Ms. Franco's work with two awards, in 2019 for Excellence in Public Service and 2020 for Advancing Diversity and Inclusion.  Like many New Yorkers, Diana is an immigrant, originally from Medellín, Colombia.


Alexis Harrison, Partnerships Lead at IDEO.org

Alexis works to build the pipeline of Ideo.org’s dynamic projects by building strong relationships and exploring new areas where co-creative design solutions can create systemic change for communities across the US. Prior to working at IDEO.org, Alexis’ work was rooted in addressing spatial inequities in Central Brooklyn. As Program Manager at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, she led a community-driven effort to increase economic opportunities and improve health outcomes. Alexis holds a BS in Environmental Design with a minor in Sustainability Studies from Auburn University and a Masters in City Planning from MIT.
