MISSION

Brooklyn Public Library’s LevelUP is an initiative of the Brooklyn Public Library that empowers Brooklyn residents, particularly women from underserved communities, to gain the technical, professional, and leadership skills needed for career growth, financial stability, and long-term success through workforce training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities.

GRANT PURPOSE & IMPACT

Amplify Her Foundation funding will support Brooklyn Public Library's LevelUP Project Management Cohort, a 10-week workforce advancement program designed to equip women from underserved communities with the technical, leadership, and professional skills needed to transition into high-growth careers. The hybrid cohort will serve 20 women through coursework in project management, executive leadership, conflict resolution, and technical tools, while providing each participant with a Google Project Management Certificate.

LevelUP combines technical instruction with mentorship, financial coaching, and career readiness support to help women overcome barriers to economic mobility and advance into industries where they have historically been underrepresented. Since its launch in 2023, the program has graduated more than 100 women, with alumni securing higher-paying jobs, expanding their professional networks, and remaining committed to careers in their chosen fields.

With Amplify Her Foundation's support, LevelUP will deliver its Project Management cohort and complementary public career development programming, helping emerging women leaders build the credentials, confidence, and networks needed to achieve career mobility, financial security, and long-term professional success.

This investment expands pathways to economic opportunity for women while strengthening a diverse pipeline of future leaders across industries. By removing barriers to career advancement and equipping women with in-demand skills and professional networks, LevelUP is helping create a more equitable workforce and stronger communities throughout Brooklyn.
