To understand the most significant barriers faced by women and girls from underserved communities, Amplify Her® Foundation collaborated with The New York Women's Foundation and IDEO.org on a comprehensive research project to identify interventions that help women overcome systemic obstacles and meet their full leadership potential. Our hope is that the research will be used by nonprofits, philanthropic organizations, and anyone interested in improving the lives of women and girls to cultivate greater understanding and more effective action.

As a philanthropic organization committed to a community-first approach, we know that problems and solutions live in the same place. Therefore, it is essential that the research and data we rely upon centers community voices and lets them lead the way. This is why we were excited to work with Amplify Her Foundation on ‘If She Can Make it Here,’ and are proud to join them for the report release and launch. We hope that this report will serve as a valuable resource to funders and anyone who cares about gender justice in New York City.

IDEO.org was thrilled to partner with Amplify Her Foundation on this important foundational research. Using the tools of human-centered design, our goal was to ensure that the process reflected our commitment to center the voices and experiences of women and girls—designing moments for women across all five boroughs to connect and share stories with each other as part of the research process.
