MISSION
IGNITE’s mission is to build the largest, most diverse movement of young women who are ready and eager to own their political power. Through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience, IGNITE equips young women with the tools and confidence to become leaders and changemakers in their communities and beyond.
GRANT PURPOSE & IMPACT
Amplify Her Foundation funding will advance IGNITE’s mission to build a movement of young women who are ready and equipped to step into civic and political leadership. As the largest, most diverse young women’s political leadership organization in the country, IGNITE provides training, mentorship, and hands-on opportunities for young women to practice political leadership, whether by running voter registration drives, leading policy workshops, or engaging directly with legislators.
In New York City, Amplify Her Foundation’s support will allow IGNITE to continue supporting its current NYC Fellow, who works directly with student-led chapters at Columbia University, New York University, and across CUNY/SUNY campuses. These chapters create spaces for young women to build political confidence and leadership through organizing workshops, ballot education parties, candidate forums, and voter mobilization efforts. The grant will also strengthen IGNITE’s signature initiatives: IGNITE the Vote, which fosters civic engagement and voter education, and IGNITE the City Hall, which brings students to City Hall to learn the legislative process, advocate for gender and racial justice, and see themselves reflected in spaces of power.
With Amplify Her Foundation’s support, IGNITE is ensuring that the voices and leadership of young women, especially young women of color, are shaping the future of democracy at every level.
